Students are prepared for recruitment to full-time positions in various sectors of the music industry and have gone on to jobs at Live Nation, Thirty Tigers, ATO Records, The Georgia Theatre, and Warner Music Group.
It provides a broad base of general studies, applied music, music theory, and music history and literature; an internship supplements course work.
Students choose from one or more emphases: (1) Choral Music Education - voice or piano concentration; or (2) Instrumental Music Education - piano, band instrument, or orchestral instrument concentration.
Graduate study provides advanced training for the fields mentioned above and provides a credential for obtaining a teaching position in higher education.
The Bachelor of Music with a major in Music Education prepares students to teach general, choral, and instrumental to grades K-12.
The degree also provides a firm foundation for graduate study.
